Who We Are

Founded in July 2024, OCR Community Empowerment Group is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in the Pocahontas Island Historic District of Petersburg, Virginia. Our mission is to amplify the voices of underserved residents by investing in civic engagement, community revitalization, outdoor recreation, and cultural heritage. We are deeply rooted in community-led efforts that bring neighbors together to shape a stronger, safer, and more inclusive Petersburg, starting with Pocahontas Island.
